[link]that's what inspiring me for this dA logo design.
yup, its a "speech bubbes". we are quite familiar with that shape & can found in dA messages center, windows taskbar, comic, etc.

CONCEPT:The dA letters built of speech bubbles* (speech ballons) symbol.
This “chained speech bubbles” represents
community, communication, interaction, friendship & unity.As we know, deviantART is an expansive, worldwide
art community where all kind of artists meet and share their works, share ideas, express themselves, communicate between each others, etc.
So i think that speech bubble is a perfect thing to symbolize what deviantART really means.
Speech bubbles are a graphic convention used most commonly in comic books, strips, and cartoons to allow words (and much less often, pictures) to be understood as representing the speech or thoughts of a given character in the comic.

The logotype is a custom font.. not an existing font.
I use a common x-height and baseline, to ensure that the overall visible form of the logotype is equal on both the "deviant" side and the "ART" side.
